BUKIT LAWANG ECO LODGE

The
EcoLodge
stands on a bank overlooking the Bohorok river. It was developed out
of a former hotel taken over by our partner organisation YEL in
2000. In collaboration with local architects and the Institute for
Ecological Settlement of the University of Soegijapranata, the
facility was reconstructed in line with ecological building
principles.
The EcoLodge is today attached to the PPLH Bohorok environmental
education centre. The infrastructure including restaurant, library,
and auditorium, is available to the general public.
The Eco-Hotel
Good and affordable: the EcoLodge offers a wide selection of rooms
to suit every budget. Particularly unique are the orang-utan rooms
with accompanying rainforest bath.
The restaurant offers traditional local dishes
made from natural ingredients. The buildings and facilities of the
EcoLodge are operated in the most environmentally-friendly manner
possible. The separation of waste and biological purification of
wastewater take place as a matter of course.
